Frequently Asked Questions:

What is your favorite dipper for the cheesecake dip?

We loved dipping butter waffle cookies in it. It would also be perfect with graham crackers, animal crackers, vanilla wafers, pretzels or even fruit (grapes and apples are particularly good). The choice is yours.

How long does cheesecake dip last?

Store the cheesecake dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. You can also freeze this dip for a couple of months-just thaw overnight in the fridge before serving.

Why does cream cheese have to be room temperature when baking?

The purpose of cream cheese being at room temperature is so it will mix in smoothly with the other ingredients. Cream cheese has a high fat content and it will only take around 30 minutes to be at room temp. If you want to speed up the process you can cut the cream cheese into smaller cubes and lay them out on a plate.

FAQs

What are Philadelphia dips made of? ›

Modified Milk Ingredients, Water, Modified Corn Starch, Corn Maltodextrin, Salt, Dried Onions, Monosodium Glutamate, Hydrolyzed Soy Protein, Sugar, Dried Garlic, Bacterial Culture, Lactic Acid, Carob Bean Gum, Guar Gum, Potassium Sorbate, Herbs And Spices, Chili Powder.

Why is my no bake cheesecake not setting? ›

The primary reason a no-bake cheesecake is too runny or doesn't set up properly is generally the temperature of the ingredients. If your cream cheese is too warm, the mixture will be too soft and will never set up properly.

Can I use soft cheese instead of cream cheese for cheesecake? ›

If your soft cheese is the same then it will taste fine but won't be as rich as if full fat cream cheese were used so the texture will be slightly lighter. Don't worry: a home made cheesecake is always a treat! Stick to Philadelphia.

Can you substitute cottage cheese for cream cheese in cheesecake? ›

Yes! While there's nothing quite like a classic New York cheesecake made with cream cheese, you can, believe it or not, make a fantastic creamy cheesecake with cottage cheese instead. When pureed smooth, cottage cheese becomes incredibly thick and creamy, just like cream cheese.

What is crack dip made of? ›

Crack Dip is easy, cheesy and full of bacon-y goodness. Cream cheese, sour cream and mayo make the base oh-so-creamy and it's flavored with ranch dressing mix (I make homemade). Add in crumbled bacon (or bacon bits), cheddar and green onions.

What are the ingredients in Philly onion dip? ›

Modified Milk Ingredients, Water, Corn Maltodextrin, Dried Onions, Modified Corn Starch, Salt, Sugar, Vinegar, Bacterial Culture, Lactic Acid, Carob Bean Gum, Guar Gum, Potassium Sorbate, Spice, Colour (Turmeric), Natural Flavour (Contains Celery), Xanthan Gum*, Calcium Propionate*, Sorbic Acid*. *May Be Omitted.

Can I use milk instead of cream in cheesecake? ›

In a pinch, you can also use light whipping cream or whole milk. However, I do not recommend using low- or nonfat milk. If you do, it's likely that the cheesecake won't set properly. You'll also likely end up with a less flavorful cheesecake.

Can I use sour cream instead of cream cheese? ›

Sour cream replicates cream cheese's taste but isn't quite as caloric, making it a good choice for a lower-calorie substitute. It gives baked goods a texture that's airy and moist, and even adds an extra bit of creaminess to cheesecake. You can substitute an equal amount of sour cream for cream cheese in recipes.

Can you use ricotta instead of cream cheese in cheesecake? ›

Whether it's used in a cheesecake or a Danish, cream cheese brings a rich, decadent quality to sweet treats. But, it isn't the only type that works well in baked goods. Although it might sound unusual, ricotta cheese is an excellent substitute, too.

Is Neufchatel the same as cream cheese? ›

Neufchâtel cheese has a slightly lower fat content than cream cheese and a slightly higher moisture content. For use as a spread, this difference will be unnoticeable, and you can make substitutions in a 1:1 ratio. But if you're planning to bake with your Neufchâtel cheese, it could be problematic.

Is the Laughing Cow cream cheese? ›

What is the Laughing Cow made of? The Laughing Cow is creamy and delicious because of its secret recipe that includes skimmed milk and a variety of cheeses (Cheddar, Gouda, Edam, Emmental, Comté …) melted and blended in a way similar to a cheese fondue.

Can I use Greek yogurt instead of cream cheese? ›

Greek yogurt is a great alternative to cream cheese. It also gives your favorite dishes a healthy twist because it's rich in protein, calcium, and vitamin B12 ( 3 ). Use an equal amount of Greek yogurt in place of cream cheese to make dips, spreads, frostings, and baked goods.

What is Philadelphia spread made of? ›

Made with pasteurized milk. Full Fat Soft Cheese, Salt, Stabiliser (Locust Bean Gum), Acid (Citric acid).

What are the ingredients in Philadelphia herb and spice dip? ›

Modified Milk Ingredients, Water, Corn Maltodextrin, Modified Corn Starch, Salt, Dried Onions, Sugar, Dried Garlic, Yeast Extract, Bacterial Culture, Lactic Acid, Herbs And Spices, Carob Bean Gum, Guar Gum, Chili Powder, Potassium Sorbate, Xanthan Gum*, Calcium Propionate*, Sorbic Acid*. *May Be Omitted.

What are the ingredients in Philadelphia dill pickle dip? ›

Modified Milk Ingredients, Water, Cucumbers, Vinegar, Salt, Modified Corn Starch, Corn Maltodextrin, Garlic Powder, Onion Powder, Bacterial Culture, Lactic Acid, Carob Bean Gum, Guar Gum, Natural Flavour, Xanthan Gum, Potassium Sorbate, Calcium Propionate*, Sorbic Acid*. *may Be Omitted.

What's the difference between cream cheese and cream cheese dip? ›

Cream cheese spread has a softer and more spreadable texture, making it easier to spread on bread or crackers. Cream cheese, on the other hand, has a denser and firmer texture, which makes it suitable for use in recipes that require a thicker consistency.
