WOMEN'S RIGHTS & FEMINIST DIPLOMACY - PROGRESS ? UNFORTUNATELY NOT !Yesterday, theHarvard Club of France washonored to host Delphine O, Ambassador and Secretary General of the Generation Equality Forum at the French Ministry of European and Foreign Affairs since 2019, for a conversation on Feminist Foreign Policy and the fight for Gender Equality.The picture Delphine drew of the state of Women's rights and human rights at large was both eye-opening and alarming. Beyond the overturn of the Roe v. Wade constitutional abortion right, the abandonment by Sweden of the first Feminist Foreign Policy, or Uganda's repressive anti-hom*osexuality act, the world has outrightly regressed on the Women's/Human rights front. This has taken place despite the common belief that Women's rights have been moving forward.Over 700mioUSD has gone to funding anti-rights movements in Europe between 2009 and 2017 and it isestimated that anti-rights funding has accelerated since.It is time to stop being naive.
